Biography: THOMAS BROTHERTON was a native of Boston, in Lincolnshire. He was born in 1809; educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge; graduated B.A. in 1837, and M.A. in 1853. He was ordained deacon in 1836, and priest in 1837, by the Bishop of Madras. He served in the diocese from 1837 to 1869; his most valuable work was at Nazareth, where he succeeded Caemmerer.
